So in my expectation of a Munro story I was off by a couple of weeks. At least this story, by one of the modern masters, is a good one. I also want to take issue with a comment that James Wood made about this story in his review of Munro’s Selected Stories.

Men det dröjde tills 1968 innan hennes första novellsamling gavs ut Editing Alice Munro’s stories is sometimes a lesson in feeling extraneous.
